MCA notification dated 5th July, 2018, requires all directors to intimate their particulars to the Central Government in e-form DIR-3 KYC within the time specified. The step has been taken to update the registry of the Directors maintained by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs.
As per newly inserted rule 12A of Companies (Appointment and Qualifications of Director) Rules 2014, every Director who has been allotted DIN on or before 31st March, 2018 is mandatorily required to file e-form DIR-3 KYC on or before 31st August, 2018.
The form requires Personal Mobile Number and Personal Email ID of the Director to be mandatorily indicated.The form is to be duly certified by a practicing professional (CS/CA/CMA).
After expiry of the due date i.e. 31st August, 2018, Ministry will de-activate DINs (allotted on or before 31stMarch, 2018) against which DIR-3 KYC form has not been filed. On and after 1st September, 2018 the e-form DIR-3 KYC shall be filed only on payment of Rs.5000.
